Apartment renovation in corso San Gottardo | Milano

The studio was commissioned to renovate a small real estate unit located within a very particular and characteristic context. We are located inside a railing house of "old Milan" near the canals, with the characteristic balconies overlooking the internal courtyard. The apartment required heavy interventions both at a structural and plant level. At first all the planks were completely demolished in order to consolidate the old seriously damaged floors. The project also envisaged a more modern distribution of the interior spaces. Despite the invasive interventions, an attempt was made to maintain the nature and style of the building as much as possible, using elements which conformed to the setting and recall the pre-existing structure.
